Using symbols from numerous iconographic paintings of The Madonna and Child as well as reenactment of miscellaneous film stills, this piece encapsulates the topic of performances of femininity, psychoanalytic thought and interest in mimetic identification theory. Playing with the tension of stillness, the piece also relies on the respiratory nature within lighting, values, and color saturation. Shot on VHS-C.
