They are met by the owners of the diner, the Curtis family, and after a strange meal and off-putting conversation, they get back in the car and continue on their way. The course of their trip is suddenly changed by a fatal car accident. Wrought with fear and guilt for what they've done, the group returns back to the diner to call the police and for whatever help they can find.
